English

For the last two weeks, we have been reading and working on a second Zog book,

'Zog and the Flying Doctors.'

We had great fun coming up with recipes to solve the Kings Orange Fever!!!!

At the end of the week we did some independent writing and write a recount of the story.

Maths

In maths we have we have been learning different ways to solve subtraction problems, first we used an empty number line and then moved on to using the three steps strategy. For example:

69 - 43 =

69 - 40 = 29

29 - 3 = 26

See if you can practise at home!

In topic we have started our new topic

'A Journey Around the United Kingdom.'

This week we have talked about the countries that are in the U.K and focused on England.

We learnt that the Capital City is London and looked at some of the landmarks,

such as Stonehenge, the Roman Baths and the Clifton Suspension Bridge.

We are looking forward to learning more about the other countries.

Paddy knew the Capital of Scotland, but no one knew the others!

Well done Danny for going home and finding out the Capital cities for Wales and Northern Ireland.

Have a great weekend.
