Hello,
Welcome back to our final term in year 1. This term we will be preparing the children for life in Year 2 to make the transition easier for them. The children will be taking on more responsibility in class with monitor roles being given out etc. If you would like to leave your child at the doors then the staff can help them to choose their lunch on the interactive whiteboard.
English
In English we have been assessing the pupils. We have been looking at reading, spelling and comprehension.
Maths
In maths, we have also been assessing the pupils current knowledge. Please practise counting with your child, both forwards and backwards in ones and in 2s 5s and 10s if you would like to help at home.
Topic
We are starting a new topic this term. Our topic is Seaside past and present. We will be learning about seaside holidays in the past and how they are different from holidays now.
Keep up reading at home and bringing in your book bags to earn Westfield dollars!
