Friday 16th March

This week in English we have started reading a new book called 'The Twits'. It is about a disgusting husband and wife who play mean tricks on each other. We have been working on describing Mrs Twit and her sneaky tricks.

In Maths we have been working on fractions. We have been learning about splitting shapes into halves, quarters and thirds an know that each piece has to be equal.

In Topic we have been looking at the changes that happened straight after the Great Fire of London. We have learned that the roads were made wider, the houses were made out of brick and the streets were cleaner.

In Science we have been learning about the 7 characteristics of living things. These are things that all living things can do. All living things move, respire (or breathe) are sensitive (or can feel) grow, reproduce, excrete (or get rid of waste) and have nutrition (or food).

As we have been readind Roald Dahl's The Twits- I asked the children to find out about the titles of any other stories. Phoebe has her own Roald Dahl collection so she brought two books in to show and Layla found out 18 titles! Well done girls.
