Friday 20th June
Hello and welcome back to Year 5W’s blog. It has been a busy week as we spent two days this week as Year 6 pupils.
Highlights from the week include…
Numeracy – This week we have been problem solving. We have looked at problems and then tried to find all the possible solutions in a logical, systematic way.
Can you find all the possible solutions to this problem?
Literacy – This week we have been looking at the poem The Pied Piper of Hamelin by Robert Browning. It is a narrative poem, which means it tells a story. We tried to imagine how different characters might be feeling. We looked at the viewpoint of the Pied Piper, how he felt at not being paid, what was going through his mind when he stole all the children. We also thought about how the mayor was feeling when all the townspeople were angry with him for not getting rid of all the rats, what made him think it would be alright to trick the Pied Piper and not pay him what he had agreed, how he felt when the children followed the Pied Piper out of town never to be seen again!

A MASSIVE congratulations to Austin and Terri on receiving their GOLD wristband this week in assembly. The whole class is super proud of them, as it is such a fantastic achievement!
Our Certificate Winner this week is Viraj for impressing all his Year 6 teachers with his excellent attitude to all his work. They can’t wait to have him for keeps! So, a big well done from us all!
As always we hope you all have a fantastic weekend. Let’s hope that the sun keeps shining!
