Friday 23rd September

Welcome to Y3W's blog.

This weeks pupils of the week were Jason and Jessica for settling into Westfield seamlessly. They are both polite, hardworking and positive members of the class.

Well Done to our superstar readers who read every day this week! Keep up the hard work.

Maths

In maths this week we have been learning all about addition. We started by adding ones to a 3 digit number, then tens and on Wednesday hundreds. On Thursday we started to look at the column addition method, we had more practice of this skill on Friday.

English

This week we have continued looking at the Stone Age Boy, we have looked at ways of improving the writing in the story using a thesaurus. We also acted the final scene of the book out! We have some budding actors and actresses in 3W.

Science

We have learnt all about our skeleton. We know the 3 functions of the skeleton and can name some of the bones that protect our vital organs.

French

We learnt more classroom phrases and played Simon says! At the end of the session we played pass the Albert! It was lots of fun! We can't wait for next week.

Music

We continued to refine our Xylophone playing skills. Mr Grimshaw says we're improving steadily! We will be ready to perform in no time.

Topic

We started had to design our 3D photo frame inspired by the Wonders of the World. Can we please remind you that your child needs a cardboard cereal box in order to make their photo frame. Can these please be in school by Tuesday 27th September.

Thanks for checking us out! Call back next week.
