Friday 24th September

Firstly, take a look at that! For the first time this year 6W have the highest attendance. Well done to all, including you at home. We like wearing our normal clothes so hope we can get this again sometime soon.

This week in English we have been introduced to the author C.S. Lewis who wrote our new class novel: The lion, the witch and the wardrobe. Can't wait to get into it! We have researched  Lewis's life and will use our fidings next week to create his biography. In reading, we have used extracts to practice retrieval, understanding of words and making inferences. This will happen all the time: they are key skills and vitally important to master.

In maths we have revisited adding and subtracting mixed numbers (fractions  with whole numbers) while introducing multiplying and dividing with fractions. The last two are much easier, surprisingly!

In topic we looked at the fascinating idea of time zones, Now we know why during our night time Ant and Dec wish us good morning, Australia are up to 12 hours in front of us!

Have a good weekend
