The end of another busy week of learning and fun in Year 4.

We have all been writing our own stories this week in English and showing how much we have learned so far in Year 4. All the children have definitely shown they possess a good level of imagination.

This week our star of the week was awarded to Mason for his superb story using paragraphs, correct punctuation and fronted adverbials. It has to be said, he has had an outstanding week. Well done, Mason!

In Maths, we are doing so well with our times tables and today quite a few of us earned our times tables bands. These will be awarded in assembly on Monday afternoon. We started to learn about the Distributive Law too, which is a strategy that can help us with more challenging calculations. We will be working more on this next week.

In Science this week, we have been continuing to explore electricity and are learning not only how to make a circuit but how to make it bigger. Amber and Marli even made their own laptop. Turns out we have a class of 'bright sparks' in 4W!!

Once again, thank you to those who chose to do extra learning at home this week. It is wonderful to see such a positive attitude to learning from so many of the children in the class.

Finally, in topic this week, we looked at children's TV shows from the 20th century.  We were amazed at how they have changed.  We had to guess at the decade that each was from and say how they were similar and different.  Maybe you could have a go too.  First watch this video of the clips, then click on the link below to take our quiz.
