Friday 2nd March

Hello and welcome back to our blog this week!

We have been up to all sorts in year 6! In English we have begun to write a narrative about Tom Trueheart. This has allowed the children to really use their imagination and produce some work of a good standard. We still aren’t quite finished with it yet but I am looking forward to reading the final versions next week.

We also looked at subjunctive form, ask your children who got it right -Beyonce or Beiber?!

In maths we have started to look at ratio, this involved looking at lots of recipes! We also touched on scale factor which the children got to grips with quite quickly.

We explored the Victorian artist and designer, William Morris in topic. We will look further into some of his famous designs over the coming weeks.

World Book Day was a success, it is always a pleasure seeing the children dressed up as their favourite book character.

And finally, we were very lucky to have Roy Turnham, a GB Paralympic Athlete, in school today telling us about his journey to success – a real inspirational gentleman.

Have a good weekend and we will see you on Monday.

Love from Mrs Parry and Mrs Melling xx
