Friday 3rd November

Hello,

Welcome back after our half term holidays.  I hope you have all deserved a restful break.  It has been a very exciting week for the children this week with Halloween.  They were all excited to tell us about what they dressed up as!!!

English

In English we have been reading the Julia Donaldson story, ‘Spinderella’  In the story Spinderella makes a wish and a hairy spider, the hairy godmother, grants her wish! WE changed the story to a Scary godmother and combined our favourite spooky characters to invent a new one.  We described her using adjectives and ‘and’ sentences.

Maths

In maths, we have been learning how to add using the part-whole model.  We have been working out all of our number bonds for different numbers up to 10.

Science

We have been working on our new topic of Hot and Cold.  We have been looking at the months of the year and which season they fall into.  We went on an autumn walk in our wellies to look for signs that Autumn was here.

Topic

In Topic, we looked at one another’s holiday photos and decided if they were from a hot or a cold place.

Pupils are rewarded in class each time they read 10 books.  Please read nightly with your child.

Enjoy the weekend
