Friday 7th July

Hello,

Well done to all the children for their super efforts at Sports Day.  All of the children worked well in teams, showed grit and determination to win and a great sense of sportsmanship in all elements.  I was really proud of how they all conducted themselves and a lot of fun was had by all.

English

In English we have been reading the book Rumble in the Jungle. We have been reciting poems and identifying rhyming words as well as making up our own poems.  Here is our class poem:

The elephant is grey,

It eats lots of hay.

He is having a drink,

He emptied the sink.

He lives in the zoo,

Watch out for his poo!

He did a big trumpet,

Made me drop my crumpet.

He is big and fat,

What do you think about that?

Maths

In maths, we have been consolidating our knowledge. We have been continuing to count in 2s, 5s and 10s as well as telling the time to the hour and half hour.

Topic

We have been learning about the human and physical geography of the seaside.

Science

In science we have been looking at reptiles.  We have learnt that they have scaly skin.  We have also been learning about which animals are carnivores, herbivores and omnivores.

Enjoy the weekend
