wc 4th December

Welcome back!

Christmas has well and truly arrived in Y2F this week...

but we have still been working really hard in class.

In English we have been looking at an extract of 'Polar Express' and describing using our senses. We thought about what we could see, hear and feel in the clip and thought about how it might feel if we were lucky enough to go on the Polar Express!

In Maths we have been working on multiplication this week. We have been looking at grouping objects and repeated addition as well as using the 'x' symbol to write multiplication sentences. This was something we have not done before but we are already getting good at it.

In Music we have been learning a new Christmas song. We decided we needed to warm up our faces and voices before we started to sing so that we had our very best singing voices, but we looked really funny doing it!

We worked so hard that we managed to get our final star in the jar and earn ourselves our second class treat of the year. Mrs Hannon is very proud of what a fantastic class we are!

We decided to watch The Minion Movie with a cup of hot chocolate (and marshmallows and squirty cream of course!) and have a snuggle with our friends.

Well that's all for this week, thank you for reading.

Before we go, just a reminder that it is the parent's drop in session after school on Tuesday. It is a chance for you to speak to Mrs Hannon if you would like and see your child's fantastic work so far as well as enjoying a festive mince pie. Mrs Hannon would love to see you there! Also it is our Christmas party on Friday so we can come into school in our party clothes ready to have fun!

We will see you again next week,

Lots of love from

Mrs Hannon, Ms Rose, Mrs Mason

and all of Y2F
