week ending 1st December

Welcome back to our weekly blog. This week we have been learning all about Artic animals. We have discovered new words and vocab such as hibernate, nocturnal and other words linked to the amazing world of animals.

We were very lucky as the weather took a turn for the worse so we had lots of ice to explore. Here are some of the words we used to describe it.....

Ava Blu - cold and freezes my fingers

Lucy - It's frosty like Jack Frost

Noah - It's slippy and slides through my fingers.

Olivia Grace - It's melting because my hands are hot and the ice is cold.

We have also been using lots of different materials to create wintery images. We used different tools and techniques to create winter wonderland scenes. Here we are with one of our amazing images of a frozen sea and the fish swimming deeper to keep warm! Great work!
We have also been working hard to develop our segmenting and blending skills during RWI to help us read words. We love our phonic station in the classroom and so may children choose to visit it every day. Don't forget Mrs Evans is going to be running a RWI workshop next week for parents.
We have been busy changing the areas in our classroom in anticipation of Christmas. Take a look at our blog next week to find out what has changed. Have a great weekend. Staff and children in Reception W
