Hi everyone!

What an exciting week! The start of the world cup! We loved coming into school in our football / sports clothes and cheering on England in our classes. How strange it was to watch football in school! We also found out that our class team is Senegal, so we're secretly hoping for a Senegal win to win the class prize!

English

in English this week we have used our knowledge of non-chronological reports to create a non-chronological report...'"All About Me!" We wrote an introductory section saying how old we were and if we had any siblings or pets. Then we organised our writing under two subheadings, 'Looks' and 'Where I live'. We have been practising using BIG capital letters for the names of people and places.

Maths

In maths this week we have been learning about subtraction. We now know that when we subtract it is getting smaller and becomes less. We used different things to helpus to add such as part whole models, tens frames and number lines. It was the first time we have used a number line and we did it really well!

Topic

In topic this week we finally managed to get out on our local walk. We walked down Montrose Avenue to Robin Park and back. We will be creating a map of Montrose Avenue so please talk to us about what you can see when you're walking along it.

Have a brilliant weekend!
