28.1.22

Hi everyone!

English

In English this week we have completed our own versions of the Town and Country Mouse stories. We had different animals visiting the town and countryside, some children wrote stories about the cat, others had a pig and some even had a dog instead! We linked this to our topic town and countryside and this meant we could also change what the animals saw in the countryside or town using our knowledge.

Maths

In maths we have continued working on addition and subtraction within 20. We looked a numbers bonds to 20 (so different ways to make the same number) and practised different methods to add and subtract.

Science

We have continued to learn about animals and the groups they belong to. This week we focused on birds, reptiles and amphibians. We found amphibians the trickiest to spot but we learnt that amphibian meant two lives as they live in water then on land.

Topic

In topic we continued to look at town and countryside and this week we used aerial views of the town and countryside to help us to spot the human and physical features of the town and countryside.

ALPs

At the ALPs this week we pretended we were in the countryside and used what we could see to orally rehearse 'and' sentences and add adjectives. A super sentence I heard was, " I can see tall brown trees and crunchy leaves."

Have a lovely weekend!
