Hi everyone,
Another week done, can you believe it is December already?! We have had lots of excitement this week and it’s been interesting to hear all your stories about your Christmas decorations and visits from a mischievous elf!
English
In English we have started with the Snowman story. We have learnt our model text;
One day it began to snow. James built a big snowman. It had a tangerine nose and a checked scarf. Suddenly it came alive! They flew to the North Pole. The snowmen danced. When they got home he melted. James felt sad.
Next week we will be creating our own versions of the story!
Maths
In maths we have been finding the difference between numbers, comparing numbers and using our detective skills to read addition and subtraction number sentences accurately and solve them.
Science
In science we talked about different places you could visit on holiday and thought of things we needed to pack to visit a hot place, and things you needed to visit a cold place. We thought sunglasses could be useful for both places though, and some of us decided we’d like to try skiing one day!
Topic
In topic we were looking at maps again and we used our map reading skills to create the key for the map of Montrose Avenue.
Computing
In computing we practised writing a sequence to move the beebot and checking if we were right. If it wasn’t right we debugged to fix the mistakes.
In the ALPs this week, we went to the highest point of the ALPs and used it as a viewpoint of Montrose Avenue and we used our team work skills to draw a map of Montrose Avenue with a partner.
Have a great weekend!
