Hi Everyone,

A big thank you to all who attended our parents information morning/evening this week. Your support is appreciated.

If you were unable to attend or would like to hear the information again, please watch the short video below.

English

In English this week we have been learning the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. We tried to retell the story using the characters and used our story map to help us to write the story.

Maths

In maths we have been working on finding the difference between two numbers. We have done this practically with cubes, using pictures and using a number line to help. We used the  language of ‘find the difference between..’ and ‘how many more..’. The children really enjoyed this work this week!

Science

In science we have been using our scientific knowledge to describe animal bodies. We described fish as having fins, gills, scales and tails and a duck as having webbed feet, feathers and a beak. What scientific language can you use to describe at home?

Topic

In topic this week, we checked our understanding of our learning in Geography this half term. We looked at various features, decided if they were human or physical and then decided if we would find them in a town or the countryside. What physical and human features can you spot while you’re out and about this weekend?

On Friday we used the VR headsets to look at the 360 degree photographs taken on our trip to Smithills Farm. The children were so excited! It was great for them to have the opportunity to relive their trip and they loved seeing their own faces and their friends on the photos.

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Rose, Miss Sherlock and Mrs Pickavance
