Good morning and a huge welcome to everyone to this week's blog from Year 6W. It has been a busy time in class. This week, the children have undertaken practise SATS and have worked extremely hard.

 

Maths - This week the children have been tackling ratio word problems. Here is an example from a previous SAT paper...

 

English - The children have been concentrating on SPAG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar) this week. They have learned about prepositions. Take a look at this explanation of a preposition...

Here are some sentences that the children have written using prepositions or prepositional phrases...

 

The girl is marching through the playground. (Carmen)

The girl is sitting upon the chair. (Harvey Joe)

Due to heavy snow, school was closed for the day. (Alexis)

Underneath the stairs, Mum stored the vacuum cleaner. (Jake)

After the race, Jessie got a gold medal for coming first place. (Holly)

Our certificate winner this week is Oscar who won for a settled and sensible week, impressing ALL his Year 6 teachers! A big well done from all of 6W smileysmileysmiley
