Friday 11th November

Hello from all of Year 6W. It has been a busy week in school with lots going on.

In English, we have begun our new class novel which is the classic novel The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis.  The children are already engrossed in the adventures of Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy in the magical world of Narnia.

The children have been finding out about the author C. S. Lewis and and will be writing their very own biography about this world famous author.

In Maths, we have continued with our fractions topic. The children have been investigating making fractions have the same denominator.

As it is Armistice Day today, the children paid their respects with a two minute silence at 11am. This week, they have read the poem In Flanders Fields by John McCrae (about World War I) and answered questions about it. Here is an animated version of this classic poem...

Our certificate winner this week is Lyla for her detailed summary of our class novel so far to a peer who had been absent. Also, Mr Heesome has awarded his certificate to Lucy May for an excellent attitude towards independent writing challenges - pushing herself to progress and achieve! A big well done to both of them from all the Year 6W staff and pupils.
