Welcome to Y6F’s blog for this week and another busy week here on the Upper Phase.
English – The children have continued with their writing based around the short film Feast by Walt Disney. This week, they have planned their own writing and written their own version of the ending of the film. Here are a selection of the children's work...
Also, today the children have had a virtual meeting with the author Jacqueline Wilson via Zoom. She talked about her love of reading as a child, how she became an author, which her favourite novels are that she has written and about her new book The Primrose Railway Children. She described it as a re-imagining of the children’s classic The Railway Children by E. Nesbitt. You might want to include this book on your child’s Christmas list.
Maths – The children continued to investigate fractions. This week, they have been learning how to compare fractions with different denominators. They then moved on to investigating how to order fractions with different denominators.
