In science, we are currently looking at how living things must be sorted and classified in order to be grouped into similar organisms, and eventually into a single species in order to be identified. This was first introduced by Carl Linnaeus in the 18th Century.
Y6 were given a selection of "newly discovered" creatures to be sorted and identified. They had to select visible characteristics in order to sub divide the whole group into increasingly smaller ones until each was in a group of its own. A challenge to be sure. Take a look at a few.
