Friday 20th January 23

Welcome back to our Year 4 blog.

This week in Science we set up an amazing observation to demonstrate the water cycle (which is what we have been learning about).  The water cycle is natural phenomena (do-do-do-do-do).  Without the this natural phenomena (do-do-do-do-do) we wouldn't have rain, the rivers and seas would disappear and we wouldn't have water to drink.

The water cycle looks like this -

Water evaporates (turns to a gas in the form of water vapour) from rivers, seas, puddles  -anywhere really, so long as there is warmth.  As it evaporates, it rises.  Then, as it cools, it turns back into water droplets.  This is called condensation.  When the droplets get too big and heavy it falls back to earth in the form of rain, sleet, snow or hail.  This part of the cycle is called precipitation.

We set up our very own water cycle in a glass!  Take a look at our pictures.

Have a go at our spellings for this week by clicking on the link on the display board below.

Really, we couldn't leave this week without explaining the natural phenomena (do-do-do-do-do) again, could we? Could we, really?  Enjoy!
