Friday 5th November 21

Hello, and welcome back to the Year 4 Blog.  You know it's the place to be, right?  It's certainly the place to be if you want to catch up on what we've been up to since you last visited.  We hope you had a great half term holiday.  It was wonderful to welcome back the children on Monday, who returned refreshed and ready for work.

You may have been wondering why our children have been asking to bring in milk bottles.  Well, we can now reveal (not our final pieces yet but...) we have begun to make them into a mask.  Not any old mask mind.  No, a mask inspired by Ancient Egypt, which is our topic for this term.

On Tuesday, we carefully cut them open and folded back the back of the bottles.  Then, we cut into shape -again carefully.  We cover them with white tissue paper using PVA glue.  This doesn't sound too difficult -but in order to get them just right, it can be a tricky affair.  Our teachers were really impressed with our work.  Take a look at our work from Tuesday.

On Friday afternoon we painted our masks.  We had spent some time before half term looking at the different Ancient Egyptian Gods and Goddesses and designed our own from them.  Here are some pictures of us painting our designs on our milk bottle masks.

All that's left to do is to say, have fun tonight on Bonfire Night.   But remember to Stay Safe.  Have a lovely weekend.
