Hello and welcome back to our blog after half-term.
In English the children have been looking at a short film clip by Disney entitled Feast. They have been using this as a stimulus to help them in their writing. This week they have been collecting vocabulary and writing descriptive sentences about Winston, the pup in the film. Take a look at the clip here…

Geography
This week we have started our new Geography topic and the children have been working with atlases to locate ‘cities of culture’ around the world. They began by reminding themselves of the seven continents and labelling them on a map. They then used an atlas to locate important cities, and their countries, around the world. The cities that they will be learning about over the next few weeks are Buenos Aires, Cairo, Moscow, New Delhi, Sydney, Tokyo and Washington DC.
Following on from this, they completed some artwork sketching The Sydney Opera House. Here is a selection of their work:
