Friday 8th October

Welcome to Y6W’s blog for this week. It has been a busy week with lots of outstanding work in class.

English – We have continued to read our class novel, Hetty Feather, by Jacqueline Wilson. Only the final chapter left to read – will Hetty find her happily ever after?

Maths – At the beginning of the week, we consolidated our long multiplication skills (4-digit by 2-digit).  After that, we recapped division using the bus stop method when dividing by a 1-digit number.  Next week it’s long division!

Science – Our topic this half term has been all about LIGHT. In this week’s lesson, the children have been investigating how light is reflected. As well as this, they have learned how a rainbow is made. This short video explains further…

Our certificate winner this week was chosen for an excellent effort with all learning this week and being really keen to share his ideas and opinions with the class during lessons. Terrific work!

Art – During art we have taken inspiration from Victorian designer William Morris and created our own printed patterns.
