As part of their CFL topic year 2 have been looking at the Great Fire of London. the culmination of their lessons has been to recreate the fire. The pupils have spent days making models of buildings, including St Pauls Cathedral and London Bridge.
The models were carried out to the ALPS and arranged to make London. When all safety procedures were checked the fire was started at the bakery in Pudding Lane, the fire soon spread and a chain of children were created to pass buckets of water to throw on the fire. Some children simulated an escape on a boat down the river Thames.
The fire was eventually put out, but most of the buildings were destroyed. London bridge survived and the roof of St Pauls Cathedral was lost.
