This week we all got wrapped up warm and spent a lot of time outside, the children loved visiting the ALPS where they liked to explore, looking at the bug houses, walking through the trees and playing on the swings, we also had a walk in the environment to listen what sounds we could hear 👂 the children told me they could hear birds, aeroplanes, dogs barking and cars going by, super good listening 👍🏻

Our adult led activity this week is construction, we encourage the children to take it in turns to place a brick on the tower, when it’s been built we say “all fall down” encouraging the child to knock the tower over, we then repeat the activity but encourage the child to wait before knocking down the tower.  When the tower has been built immediately prompt the child to wait, continue to build up the anticipation, ready.....waiting.....steady......GO!

The learning we want to see from this activity, is use of single words, listening skills, pointing-gestures being used, understanding the use of objects and imitate actions.

You can do this at home as well.

Below is some pictures if the fun we’ve had this week 👇
