Week Beginning 2nd May 2022
In nursery we have a communication group to really focus on children’s Communication and language skills, it also helps children with speech and understanding. Our activity for this week is “posting”, we gather 4/5 objects and place them in front of the children, we then ask if they can find a certain object, “can you find the spoon” “can you get me the car”,once found we ask the child to post it in our box. We also focus on single words by asking the children “what’s that” and waiting for them to respond. We then challenge them further by saying 2 words such as “blue car” “yellow block” etc. These activities boost children’s confidence and helps to build relationships with other children and also encourages them to take turns. This week we have taken a small group to visit the library, the children really enjoyed this experience and enjoyed picking out their own books to read. They listened with interest to the books we read and already can’t wait to go back😁 we will be taking small groups regularly so that every child gets the opportunity.
