week ending 12th November 2021

Welcome back to our class blog and what a busy and exciting time in Reception W it has been. Let's take a look at this weeks learning. This week we have been using the text Commotion in the Ocean - a super story about what goes on under the sea - this gives the children lots of opportunities to listen to animal descriptions and try to name them.  As always I will post the link to the story at the end of the blog smiley

As you can see from the pictures below we had an amazing time at Tread Uk. We made dens for hedgehogs, found nests in trees, explored den building and leaf collecting. Such fun times

We have also created a lovely display in class depicting some of the work we have completed using Commotion in the Ocean. Prior to writing we watched a nature programme on the whiteboard about all of the different sea creatures. We then chose one to illustrate and write about and this is the finished article. Looks fabulous doesn't it?

As always at this time of the year we have been thinking about those brave people who made the ultimate sacrifice. We made our own poppies and wore them with pride. As always, we observed the 2 minute silence respectfully. I am super proud of everyone.

Please see below for the link to this weeks text of the week.....

Next week we will be using the text What the Ladybird heard at the seaside - all of these lovely books fit in nicely with our learning about animals and habitats. So far we have looked at pets in the home, animals under the ocean and seaside creature. I wonder where our learning will take us next week enlightened

Have a great weekend
