Week ending 27th May 2022

Hello and welcome back to our class blog. What a wonderfully busy week in Reception. Let's have a look at this weeks exciting events ........

This week we have been celebrating all things Jubilee as well as continuing our learning about Julia Donaldson texts. Here we are exploring coins. We have sorted them, made patterns with them and used them for coin rubbings. We had the amazing idea of looking at how many coins it would take to fill the outline of the Queen.

We have also been super busy in our maths work. We have been exploring number bonds. Take a look at just a small sample of our independent work smiley

Our text of the week is The Snail and the Whale. Look at this lovely example of how different materials can be combined to make a snail. Fabulous

We have also been exploring our class snails. We have used the Internet and photographs to find out what they eat, where they live, how they move and so much more. Here are some of us with the facts that we have discovered.

We have been getting ready for our Friday Jubilee celebrations. We have decorated the classroom, made bunting, sketched photographs of the Queen and even made clues for a Jubilee Treasure Hunt. We are so very excited and cannot wait to see your crowns on Friday smiley

We hope that you have a great weeks holiday. We look forward to seeing you after half term for another fun filled few weeks of Julia Donaldson stories.
