Week Ending 3rd February

Welcome back to another look into a busy week in Reception. This week our text of the week has been the 'Three Little Pigs'. We have enjoyed acting out the story using our role play skills.

We have also been building up our Maths knowledge of the numbers 6,7 and 8. We read the story 'Six Dinner Sid' where Sid the cat goes to have his dinner at 6 different houses. We used this story within our Maths lesson. Have a look at one of our activities this week.

This week we hosted our second stay and play session. The focus of this was Reading. We showed our grown ups lots of activities in our class room that we love to take part in to improve our reading skills. We had a great morning and so did our grown ups!

Each week we take part in a PE session. We have great fun and develop our gross motor skills. This week was focused on balancing. We had to run to different spots and balance on one leg. We also had to FREEZE when Coach Jack told us to, our listening was (as always) fantastic.

In one of the games, some children were chosen to be chasers. If we were caught, we had to balance on one leg with our arms out until one of our friends could set us free. It was so fun and exciting, especially when Miss Sherriff was chosen to be a chaser!!

Next week, our text of the week is another Traditional Tale 'The Elves and the Shoemaker'. Have a little listen to it on Youtube if you have not heard it before!

Have a great weekend!
