10.11.23

Hi everyone,

Sorry for the lack of blogs the last couple of weeks, the website has been a bit problematic and we hadn’t managed to get one up while it was working!

Reminder: Reading books will only be changed on Fridays if the reading record is signed.

Maths

We have continued to look at addition this week and in particular have been focusing on number bonds (pairs of numbers) to 10. We used tens frames to help us to find different ways to make 10 and wrote the addition number sentences too. This game will reinforce this learning at home. https://ictgames.com/saveTheWhale/oldcdn.html

English

In English we have been looking at the Snail and the Whale story by Julia Donaldson. We have been focusing on adjectives and learning to include these in our writing. Last week we wrote a description of the snail and this week we focused on describing the whale. We have learnt some really interesting facts about whales. Ask us at home to see what we can remember.

Topic

In topic last week we practised skills we needed to create our sculptures like rolling, flattening, and using the tools. This week we we used clay to create sculptures of our heads, following on from our self-portrait work last week.

Science

We have started to learn about the four seasons; autumn, winter, spring and summer. Last week we went on an autumn hunt to see what signs of autumn we could find around our school grounds and the ALPs. This week we looked all four seasons and how the weather is different across the four seasons.

Next Friday we are celebrating Children in Need day by wearing our own clothes to school for £1 donation.

Have a lovely weekend!
