Happy New Year!! Wishing you and your families a happy and healthy 2024.

Maths

In maths this week we have continued our learning with numbers to 20. We have been using the language of 'greater than', 'less than' and 'equal to' to compare and order numbers to 20. This has really been testing our number sense and understanding of the value of numbers to 20.

English

In English our story is 'The Enormous Turnip'. We have been practising 'but' sentences this week to help us to retell the story.

Science

In science this week we looked at the human body and checked we knew all of our main body parts by playing Simon Says. We're very good at knowing parts of the body! The part we found trickiest was the ankle.

Topic

Our new topic is called 'Town and Countryside'. This week we have been looking at aerial maps and photos of Wigan (as the town) and the countryside and sorting the pictures to ones that belong in the town and ones that belong in the countryside.

Computing

In computing this week, we have practised predicting where the Beebot will end up when given an algorithm and we tried to write our own algorithms to guide the Beebot where we wanted it to go to.

You will have received a letter on Weduc about our upcoming trip to Smithills Farm. Payments will need to be made on the Weduc app. Please speak to the front office if you need support with this or if you need to set Weduc up.

Have a lovely weekend!
