What a wonderful week of learning we have had this week!
We have been learning about the story 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' by Eric Carle.
This book can be purchased in ASDA's 2 for £7 range or you can watch an animated video here
The children have been
- painting fruits, selecting the correct colours from the story
- re-telling the story to an adult
- learning new vocabulary such as 'pickle', 'salami', 'chrysalis', 'cocoon'
- drawing foods and labelling them
- playing with the resources from the story (story sack, threading cards, role play area)
We also had an extra special visit on Thursday afternoon from Little Barn Farm.
The children were a credit to us as we walked over the the ALPS at the side of school and handled the animals. The farmer was amazed at how well we sat and listened and took gentle care of her rabbit and hen.
In other news.....
One of our class members celebrated success outside of school for her fabulous Morris Dancing skills!
and we have also celebrated two birthdays this week. Welcome to the number 4 club!
