Hi Everyone,

Just a reminder if you haven’t already, please can you bring your Big Cat reading book in ASAP as we are rebanding the books to align more with our RWI phonics. Thank you.

Maths

In maths this week we have continued to work on subtraction. We have used tens frames and number lines as strategies to subtract. Then we had a look at some different representations of addition and subtraction to see if we could understand which was add and which was takeaway.

English

In English this week we have continued to write non-chronological reports. This week our focus was ‘All About Me’. So we have written a fact file about ourselves! We thought about what adjectives we could use to describe our hair, eyes and families too.

Science

This week our seasons work has focused on hibernation and migration. We learnt that some animals hibernate (sleep) through the winter. Some animals migrate (travel) to somewhere warmer for the winter months.

Topic

In topic we created a class map of Montrose avenue following on from our walk last week. Everybody used a key to show everybody looking at our map what the symbols meant. We also thought about our school grounds and found that there was something missing from our map we managed to use the symbols in the key to finish it off.

Have a lovely weekend!
