English

In English this week we have been looking at the ‘Town Mouse and Country Mouse’. We have been learning the story using the story map which is helping us to remember the story using the pictures and actions. We have thought about adjectives to describe the mouse and written the story.

Maths

In maths this week we have been learning about addition within 20. We have been practising adding using tens frames to count them all. Then we moved on to count on to add. This really tested our counting skills and we realised we need to practise lots! We were finding it tricky to count forwards from any number.

Science

In science this week, we have been learning about reptiles and birds. We found that all birds have 2 legs, wings, feathers and a beak. Did you know an ostrich and a penguin are both still birds even though they cannot fly?

Topic

In topic this week we have focused on human and physical features of the town. We used Wigan as our town and found there are more human features than physical features in towns.

Computing

In computing we have continued to work with the Beebots. This week we were given algorithms and needed to make predictions about where the Beebot would travel to.

We will be visiting the farm next Friday!

Have a lovely weekend!
