Friday 10th November

Over the past two weeks we have been learning about Autumn.

We have been thinking about the changes in the local environment in Autumn, especially the colours of the leaves and them falling from the trees.

We have been thinking about the celebrations that we recognise in AUtumn, such as Halloween, Bonfire Night and Remembrance Day.

The children have completed a drawing/ writing task about their favourite part of Autumn and have made poppies in Remembrance of the soldiers and animals who fought during the wars in the world.

In continuous provision we have been developing our scissor control skills and accessing activities linked to Autumn and Remembrance Day

We looked at the poppies we had made and talked about who we had made them for.  We then placed them upon the display board and re-arranged them into a remembrance wreath.  The way that the light shone onto the display board on Friday morning was poetic.
