Friday 12th October 2018

Well, what anther busy week it has been here in Year 4.

In English, we did a piece of independent writing based around our class novel -The Legend of Podkin One-Ear.  Our teachers asked us to imagine being Podkin and walking down the tunnel that led into Boneroot.  Boneroot is a rabbit warren which is hidden away from the Gorm (the baddies in the story).  Podkin, his sister (Paz) and baby brother (Pook) are on the run from the Gorm and are trying to find a safe haven.

Kieran Larwood uses beautiful description in this section.  We could all imagine the scene really clearly.  Take a look at the wonderful illustration by David Wyatt.

In maths we have been learning to add and subtract , crossing the tens boundary and exchanging! It's quite a tricky concept and we have worked really hard to ensure we have understood this objective!
We busied ourselves writing -describing the sights, sounds and smells.  We also thought about how we could include fronted adverbials, and worked using paragraphs.  Our teachers were really proud of our efforts.  Well done us...even if we say so ourselves.
