Friday 14th July

Welcome  to the 5W penultimate blog.

This week has been a very unusual but busy week. It was Transition week; where we get to see our new teachers and classrooms and also Enterprise week; more about that later.

Maths

In maths we revisited some things we needed more practice on.

We looked at adding and subtracting decimal numbers with different decimal places. Also square and cubed numbers.

English

We looked at the features of a news paper:-

. Headlines

.Different font

. Photos/Captions

. Bullet points

. Boxes

. 5W's

We looked at actual newpapers,  found examples and stuck them on a labelled sheet.

Topic

In topic we compared the climates of the different countries in North America.

Enterprise week

As you know next week we are hosting Westfest. Each class has been given £10.00 to purchase stock to make things to sell. On Westfest afternoon each class will sell their products and the money raised will go towards our Christmas parties. Year 5 have made ice cream to sell. Four different flavours; vanilla, strawberry, toffee and chocolate banana. Let's hope it's a lovely sunny day.

Pupil of the Week

Is Mark McCormick for his efforts and gaining his red, orange and yellow and spelling badges. Well done!

Have a good weekend, next week is the last before we break up. Take care.
