Friday 14th October

Where is the time going!

Well done to our superstar readers! Keep up the hard work.

Maths

This week has been looking at mental addition, we have been adding ones, tens and hundreds to 3 digit numbers! We have proven that we are ready to move onto written methods of addition. Bring it on!

English

We have continued to focus on the Pirate Code. On Monday we had to identify adjectives and similes in a character description. On Tuesday we helped the police to catch Captain Greenbeard by creating a WANTED poster with some fab descriptions! We visited the Book Fair on Wednesday and enjoyed reading the brand new books, check out the pictures below to see how much fun we had. We also ordered instructions on how to walk the plank. On Thursday we wrote instructions on how to find buried treasure on an island. On Friday we wrote acrostic poems about Pirates, have a look at them!

Science

On Wednesday it was our chance to show off everything we had learnt in Science this topic. We had to draw a picture of a human and label it with all of the things we have learnt. They were very busy pieces of work.

Topic

This weeks Topic lessons focused on South America, we used the internet to research facts about the continent, then looked closer at Brazil and its world wonders.

P.E

In P.E we continued to refine our football skills. We learnt how to pass the football with accuracy and then control it.

Can the Year 3 Team take this opportunity to remind you that it is parents evening this coming Tuesday and Thursday. We look forward to meeting you!

Have a great weekend!
