Friday 15th March

Good morning and welcome to our blog for this week. It has been a busy week here in Year 5W.

Maths - This week the children have continued working on long multiplication, moving on to multiplying a 4-digit number by a 2-digit number.  They have also been dividing a 4-digit number by a 1-digit number (with no remainder) using  short division, also known as the bus-stop method.

English - This week the children have been investigating past tense verbs. They have also planned and written an independent piece of writing. They used the Titanium by David Guetta video as a stimulus, and wrote their own story involving someone waking to find the world around them in devastation.

Our certificate winner this week is Aurora. She won for an incredible and mature act of kindness, showing what a kind, caring and compassionate friend she is. Aurora was also awarded the Upper Phase Pupil of the Week. Congratulations to her from all of her Year classmates and teachers.

Can we take this opportunity to say thank you for all your kind donations to Comic Relief for Red Nose Day today. Also, many thanks for all the Parent's Evening appointments that have been booked on Weduc. We look forward to seeing you on Monday or Wednesday next week. Have a lovely weekend and we look forward to seeing you again on Monday.
