Friday 15th March

Year 3 had a fantastic time at the Deva Roman Discovery Centre in Chester. We were transported back to the time of the Romans, where we climbed aboard a ship to travel across the sea to the Roman Fortress of Deva (Chester).

We learned about why the Romans invaded Britain and what is was like to live in Chester as Roman soldier. We even visited a Roman bath house and an amphitheatre where we watched a Gladiator fight!

After lunch, we were enlisted as part of the Roman Army. We marched through the centre of Chester whist chanting and carrying our shields and swords.

On Thursday, we had a visit from Wigan Council who delivered a Road Safety Session. We learnt the important message to ‘Think, Stop, Look, Listen’ before we cross the road safely.
