Friday 16th March

Well done to Harvey-Joe for getting our achievement certificate for making outstanding progress in his independent writing.

English.

In English, we have been reading the story of 'The Enormous Turnip.'  We have sequenced the pictures, role played pulling out the turnip and read the sentences and put them in order.

Maths

In Maths, we have been learning about tens and ones.  We have been counting and making numbers in tens and ones, as well as ordering numbers.  We have been learning how to count in 2s this week.  Please help us to do this at home!

Science

In Science, we are learning about plants and trees.  We learnt that trees have trunks, branches and bark and plants have stems.  We sorted plants and trees and discussed their features.  We also looked at a Bonsai tree as the children thought that all trees were big!

Topic

In topic, we have been learning about Vincent Van Gough.  We have learnt the art techniques, stippling, fine brush strokes, thick brush strokes and how to do a wash with thin watery paint.

Have a lovely weekend.
