Friday 18th January

Victorian classroom

Welcome back to this week's blog. We have had a really successful week, getting through lots of new learning and activitiesno.

In maths we have been working on multiplying and dividing decimals as well as rounding them to whole numbers, 1, 2 and even 3 decimal places! We then used our skills to apply them in reasoning activities!smiley

We have been studying Oliver Twist in English, with a particular focus on the deceitful miser, Fagin! The children wrote a detailed description of the unsavoury character in the style of a wanted poster.

The highlight of this week however must be our introduction to the Victorians. Over lunch, we busied ourselves turning the classroom into one which resembled a Victorian classroom so that the children had an idea as to the contrast of lives for children then and now. Every child told us that they thoroughly enjoyed the lesson and asked if we can do it again!!

Well that's it from us for now. Have a good weekend and we will see you on Monday.

Love from Mrs Parry, Mrs Melling & Mr Jackson xx
