Friday 19th April

Hello and welcome back to year 4's blog of the week.

In maths, we have been looking at decimals and focusing on tenths. Have a little play at the online game and see how well you know your decimals and tenths.

In writing, we have been looking at a book called Voices in the Park by Anthony Browne, its a story written about one day written in four different characters perspectives. We then reminded ourselves of inverted commas, to create a dialogue between the two characters. Read the story below. https://www.williammurdoch.bham.sch.uk/admin/ckfinder/userfiles/files/voices-in-the-park-story.pdf

In Geography, we have begun our new unit all about Rainforests. We compared 4 different areas of the world and learnt about Tropical Rainforests with a focus on the Amazon Rainforest, which is in Brazil.

On Friday, Ellen Hardaker, from Wigan council came in for the day to lead an Assembly and workshops all around Earth Day, which is on Monday 22nd April. The children looked at the impacts of plastic on the world and what we can do to make the world a better place. Look at the link below at some of the things you can do to make a positive change at home. https://www.wwt.org.uk/discover-wetlands/fun-and-learning/make-it-activities/?gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIyYHC2ozKhQMVD5VQBh3VKQHcEAAYASAAEgKdfvD_BwE
