Friday 21st April

Hello and welcome back to Y6W!

This week started very well with all the children coming back from the Easter break switched on and raring to go. SATS are edging ever nearer and it is clear that the importance and urgency of the next couple of weeks is starting to dawn on the children.

In English we have focused on how to write in formal situations, using impersonal, polite, yet assertive language to put points across. Quite a challenge for those of us born and bred in Wigan ( or is it WIGGIN?)

In maths we have sorted and classified shapes, measured and drawn angles and calculated missing angles in triangles, straight lines and other figures. 180 degress comes into a lot of things.

Check out below as we enjoy reading (for many re-reading) chapter 1 of Why the whales came. Please help your child to bring back their Easter packs asap.

Finally, have your say.  Each week you will have a chance to decide on which new song we will learn in next week's whole school assembly.  Click on the link below to take part in an online vote.
