Friday 21st September

Hello again everybody!

Seems a long time since that wonderful weather we had back in the late Spring: it's tippling down right now! However, it hasn't stopped the hard work in Year 6F. We will soon be posting examples of our Battle of Britain animations that we are currently working on, that being just one example of our current projects.

In English we have used a short video to inspire the development of more complex sentence structures that could be used in creative writing. These involve creating expanded noun phrases and inserting parenthetic clauses - all sophisticated stuff, I'm sure you agree, though these are the grammatical terms Y6 children need to be exposed to.

In maths we have moved on to understanding negative numbers, including adding and subtracting across zero and finding differences between a positive and a negative. Next week we will be answering problems involving negatives.

This week we sampled high school life with an afternoon at Dean's Trust. It was a great experience and will allow the children to gain an insight into what will arrive all too soon.

Check out the pictures below.

Bye for now!
