Friday 22nd March

Hello again and welcome back to year 4's blog!

Well hasn't it been yet another busy week. It was lovely to see so many faces at parents evening this week, thank you for coming!

In maths this week, we have moved onto fractions! The children have been understand fractions as a whole and then looking at equivalent fractions. This is where two fractions have an equal amount to one another. For example 1/2 is equivalent to 4/8 and 6/12

Have a go at the game below and see how good your knowledge of equivalent fractions is.

In writing, we have moved onto looking at writing a persuasive letter, we looked at the features and starting to plan our own write for next week. This will be about why we think that schools should have their own 'school dentist'. I am looking forward to seeing the finished results already.

In reading, we have been looking at Henry's Freedom Box. This is a book based on the true story of Henry 'Box' Brown who mailed himself to freedom to escape slavery.

Next weeks spellings we are continuing with words that make the 'shun' sound. But this time ending in ssion or cian.

1) mission

2) discussion

3) expression

4) profession

5) magician

6) optician

7) electrician

8) musician

Have a lovely weekend and see you on Monday!
