Friday 22nd September

Welcome back to year 4’s blog! Another week gone by already.

In maths this week, we have been learning to find 1, 10, 100 or 1000 less than a given number. Sounds a lot right? It was and we absolutely smashed it. Have a go at this link and see If you can find 10 or 100 more than the numbers in the game. https://wordwall.net/resource/58158126/10-100-more-or-less

In English, we have been learning all about fronted adverbials. A fronted adverbial adds more information on to the sentence and can tell us…when, how, where or why something is being done.

We then made our own sentences containing an empty word (noun) in order to create suspense. For example, 'the strangers footsteps got louder and louder. It was close."

In reading, we have finished Toto the Ninja Cat, which we are gutted about as we loved it! However, we have started our new book Perigee and Me. This is about a girl who befriends an alien, but the only problem is, he wont stop growing.

Next week’s spellings are words that end in the ‘zhun’ sound.

They are

  1. Division
  2. Decision
  3. Magician
  4. Invention
  5. Action
  6. Vision
  7. Exception
  8. Explosion
