Friday 26th January

Hello and welcome to year 4's blog of the week.

In maths, we have been extremely busy with multiplying 2 digit numbers by 10 and 100. We move one decimal place when multiplying by 10 and 2 decimal places when multiplying by 100 and we then put 0's in as our place holders. Have a go at the game below which is a great way to practise this skill.

In writing, we have finished our Talk for Writing unit 'Traditional Tale'. Children came up with some excellent pieces of writing about two characters who helped each other over come something. Children challenged themselves to include speech marks (inverted commas) correctly.

In Science, the children conducted an experiment where they created a cloud in a jar and made it rain in their glass. It acts like the water cycle and it was so cool to see that we could actually make it rain indoors! Have a look at the link below and see if you can recreate it at home. https://www.giftofcuriosity.com/weather-science-how-to-make-a-cloud-in-a-jar/
