Friday 29th November

Hello and welcome back to our blog!

It’s all been about fractions this week in maths – adding them and simplifying them. Your children found this challenging when having to find a common multiple but once they got the hang of it they did a great job!

We read a book called Cloud Busting by Malorie Blackman in English, which was different to our other class novels as it is written in poem form. We thoroughly enjoyed the book – it stirred a range of emotions which got us thinking and discussing. We have also been writing a persuasive letter, with regards to the use of unsustainable palm oil in products, to try and encourage the use of an alternative.

In geography, we looked at St Basil’s cathedral in Moscow, Russia and used our finding to write a poem about the spectacular building that was built under the order of Ivan IV in the 1500‘s.

In science, we continued with designing our very own circuit game and started to build them – very exciting!

Time for a rest over the weekend so that your children can prepare for another full-on week next week! Have a good one!

Love from Mrs Parry & Mrs Melling xx
